Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4

Whilst Adobe Photoshop is an excellent photo-editing favoured by many professional photographers, but many home-users and hobbyists find it too expensive. Enter Adobe Elements 4

Adobe Elements 4 is a great program for beginners, intermediate or experts in the field of digital photography on the PC.  One of its main unique features is the way it files the photographs saved to disk.  It uses what is known as “face recognition” – that means that if you want to view photos with (for example) granddad in, it will search for all the photos containing the image of his face and display them ready for you to work with.

Another great feature is it red-eye removal tool. This just doesn’t remove the red-eye but replaces it with a tiny reflection of natural light that would natural occur if you had taken the photograph without a flash.

The extraction tool is another great feature. This is used if you want to extract the subject (e.g. a person) from the photograph and place him/her in an entirely different background.  For example, removing granddad from a scene where there are distracting things in the background and placing him in a mountain range, tropical beach or other exotic location.  In many digital photo programs you would have to draw carefully around the figure you want to extract, which is not very easy without a steady hand, but with Adobe Elements 4, you can tell the program to detect and extract the object automatically, which is much quicker and more accurate – this is called the Magic Extractor with Defringe

So if you are looking for a reasonably priced photo program with a host of facilities I would say go for Adobe Elements 4.  Other things you can do with this  program are…Make dynamic slide shows, Skin Tone Adjustment, Quick Fix, One Click Printing, View your photos on TV, Face Tagging…
