Learning Another Language - Problems with PronounciationThese days, with the popularity of the home computer and it's portable counterpart, the laptop, learning another language, wherever you may travel throughout the world, has been made so much easier and can even be fun with the right software. Many years ago, I lived and worked as a musician in Spain. The language was quite a problem as I tried to communicate with my Spanish co-workers and I decided that it was no good, I would have to learn the language. Easier said than done and I was repeatedly using the phrase "habla mas despacio por favor", which meant, please speak more slowly, please. And I was often getting shrugs of the shoulders as they failed to understand words I was badly pronouncing from my phrase books. But because I was interacting with people, listening and speaking the language, I mastered it much quicker than if I'd had to do it alone, living in my own country. And this is where language software comes into its own. There were no home PCs in those days, let alone laptops I could have taken with me.
