MicroDirect.co.uk is a professional looking site the oozes professionalism. Done out in blue and white (blue being my favourite colour) I find is refreshing and easy on the eye.

Home Page Links: Right at the top of the home page you have links to Offers, Shops, Systems, Info and My Account.

Then you have links to Registration, About Us, Contact, Delivery, Help, and News. Down the left hand side, you have a very large Products Menu including links to… Clearance Corner, ADSL/Modems, Barbone/Systems, Bluetooth/USB/IO, Cables, Cameras, Case Modding, Cases/PSUs, CD/DVD/Backup, Cooling/Fans, CPUs/Processors, Gadgets, Gaming, GPS/SatNAV, Graphics Cards, Hard Drives, Home Entertainment, Media/Cartridges, Memory, Mice/Keboards, Monitors/Displays, Motherboards, MP3 Players, Networking, Phone/PDAs, VoIP, Printers/Scanners, Software and Sound/Speakers. Computer-wise, you name it, they seem to stock it.

Then you can browse by manufacturer, with links to companies like Belking, Inkrite, Geil, Microsoft, Freecom, OKI, AV-Home, Shuttle, Corsair, and AMD. 

Quite a selection there. Far too many products to write about in any depth in this review. What follows is just a sample of what this site has to offer...

The Rest of the Home Page:
Here you will find “Hot Offers” that usually have displayed items such graphics cards, DVD Rewriters,  MP3 Players, Jewel Cases, Hard drives, Monitors, Notebook(laptop) computers, Keyboard and Mouse sets all at special offer prices.  And if you wish you can subscribe to their mailing list here also, to keep you informed of any offers that come up.

Next comes the Special Offers page that changes frequently and lists product by categories with how many items are in that category on special offer.  For instance you may be looking for a camera and clicking on this link will show the current bargains that are on offer.  Many other things are listed on this page such as TFT monitors, hard drives, memory (RAM),  CD, DVDs, Speaker Systems, Mice, and more.

There is so much to write about on this site, but to take a page at random would be their Cables page.  Here is a page I found particularly useful to bookmark, that listed, Phono cables, Extension cables, Networking cables, USB and Parallel Printer cables, and for the more technically minded, SATA cables, SVGA cables, Internal Power Splitter Cables and lots more.

On the Info Link they have their company Address in Manchester and a map to their showrooms in Manchester (UK) with opening hours and contact details  for those who would like to visit. They also have a link for traders, for those in the computer business to make bulk purchases after they open a trade account.

Making Your Purchase:
To place an order with www.microdirect.co.uk. When you have found the product you wish to purchase, using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen to simply click on the buy now button – this will then add the product to your shopping basket. Once you have finished selecting the products you wish to buy, click on the Checkout button.

There are five stages to the checkout process which I found very easy to use because there is an indicator at the top of the page advising you at what stage you are at. On your first purchase, you will be asked to input your name and address details. Once your first order has been completed, you will be emailed your order confirmation, and a password that you can use to log in with (to save the effort or re-entering all your details).  

In summary, I feel that Micro Direct is a large, easy to navigate site with everything you can think of for the computer enthusiast and amateur alike.
