Sony Bravia 32inch HD Ready TFT Television

 Cheap Telly

It's was no use standing my ground and refusing to go digital, so being big Sony fans, we surfed on over to the Comet website and took the plunge. 32 inches would sit nicely in our lounge without it looking too much like a cinema. Why Comet? Because I have dealt with them for over 20 years and on the odd occasion that something has gone wrong with a purchase, they couldn't have been more helpful in putting things right quickly. But back to the T.V....

The Sony Bravia, KDL-32S2010 is the model we settled on and we were not disappointed. The picture is pin-sharp with something called "full digital image scaling". This boosts low-contrast images to make them clear and look more"real".Colours such as blues, greens and white are produced separately on a frame by frame basis to boost colour vibrancy and credibility and noise. This can all be attributed to an excellent resolution of 1366 x 768 and a contrast ratio of 1300:1.

Digital Tuner

With regard to getting the Freeview digital channels, the The KDL-32S2010 is fitted with a digital tuner that automatically sets itself up - ours took around 15 minutes to do so. Once up and running you have access to a timer that enables you to directly choose programmes for up to 12 timer recordings and if you have a Smart connector, connected to a Video or DVD recorder, the TV can "talk" to the recording device and record automatically, (i.e. without you having to set-up your recorder) provided the set on standby and not disconnected from the main power.

Overalll, I think we have made an excellent choice (our last TV was a Sony 25 inch CRT, which gave us 10 years of trouble-free viewing). Sony has produced an excellent set in the KDL-32S2010.
